Our Head of Communications Lea Keller has listed her favourite places in Zurich. The neighbourhoods in Zurich are divided into \u2018circles\u2019. Here is an overview of what there is to discover in each district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">District 1 und 2<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Take a dip into the lake at the historic <strong>Seebad Utoquai. <\/strong>The bathing facility is located on the bustling lakeside promenade. You can enjoy a good coffee at <strong>Monocle<\/strong>. The <strong>Villa Bleuler park<\/strong> is a wonderful place to read the newspaper and take a stroll in the <strong>new botanical garden<\/strong> close by. The <strong>Kultur Lokal Rank<\/strong> in Zurich&#8217;s Niederdorf is a great restaurant with character and fresh cuisine. Photo by Z\u00fcrich Tourismus.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">District 3 und 4<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A local hotspot in summer is <strong>Bullingerplatz<\/strong> in district 4. The <strong>Cafe du Bonheur <\/strong>has sun until late and is one of the most popular sun terraces in the city. The square in front of the caf\u00e9 is always full: people meet there after work to sit together by the fountain and have a drink.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not far away is the <strong>Lochergut<\/strong>. The residential and commercial complex is known for its characteristic silhouette. There are many restaurants around this tram stop. Just around the corner is the well-known and popular <strong>Gelateria di Berna<\/strong>. It&#8217;s worth queuing here, as the ice cream parlour offers a large selection of ice creams with changing flavours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Idaplatz<\/strong> in the 3rd district is a cosy place where the locals play betangne on the gravel or watch football in the <strong>Calvadoz bar<\/strong>. There are some incredibly good Italian restaurants there, such as the family-run <strong>Genoves<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1770\" height=\"1181\" src=\"https:\/\/iass2024.org\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/cafe_du_bonheur_zurich.jpg.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1828\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">In the evening, the sun shines longest on Bullingerplatz. Photo by Gault&amp;Millau.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">District 5<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Zurich locals traditionally go to <strong>Cafe Noir<\/strong>, which is both a caf\u00e9 and a roastery. My favourite ice cream place is called <strong>Eisvogel<\/strong> and is run by two women. There are only 4 flavours to choose from and they are always an explosion of flavour. There is a <strong>Markthalle<\/strong> (market hall) in <strong>IM<\/strong> <strong>VIADUKT<\/strong>. It is worth to walk through and grab a small snack or a culinary souvenir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For dinner, city dwellers go to the Italian restaurant <strong>Rosso<\/strong>, right next to the railway tracks. It is more romantic than it sounds like. If you prefer French flair, go to <strong>Les Halles<\/strong> for moules et frittes. Photo by Gault&amp;Millau.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">District 6<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Cafe Nordbr\u00fccke <\/strong>(Nordbr\u00fcggli in Swiss German) is located in the residential neighbourhood Wipkingen. Caf\u00e9-Bar <strong>Belmondo<\/strong> is found on the same square as this caf\u00e9 ans serves. <strong>Caf\u00e9 des Amis<\/strong> is a wonderful place for brunch.
